Āyurvedic Seasonal Tips; KAPHA SEASON!
As we enter into the deepening of Spring (Kapha Season) and the climate changes, as does the environment of our bodies! Here are some tips to stay in balance!
Hello my loves! I hope you have been enjoying the slowly thawing Earth and its blossoming beauty! Springtime is here indeed, and with it comes some pretty major shifts for our bodies in attuning to the seasonal change!
In the Northern Hemisphere, we are adjusting to the significant change of weather between Winter and Spring. In Āyurveda, we consider this adjustment to be one of the major “threshold seasons”, because the QUALITIES of the natural world are so drastically different in nature.
During these Threshold Season transitions, we want to take EXTRA care to support the body in gradually adjusting to the new qualities of our environment. As within, so without; as the qualities of the outside world change, as does the experience of our bodies!
This is an AWESOME time for cleansing + purifying the body, to purge some of the excess Dosha that has built up in the system over the last season. I’ll share some cleansing practices + common symptoms below that discuss this “excess dosha” build-up in more detail.
But first, what IS the nature of this seasonal transition?
We are moving from Winter (VATA SEASON) into Spring (KAPHA SEASON)! As you might’ve noticed from the previous post on Ayurvedic principles, these two doshas are QUITE opposite in nature — so this transition is extra hard on our bodies!!
